I. Oommen, Retired Professor of Catholicate College, Pathanamthitta, was a visionary educationist whose life was guided by service, integrity, and a deep concern for society. He believed that education should empower, uplift, and open doors for every child, not remain a privilege for a few.<\/p><p>With foresight and determination, he played a pivotal role in shaping St. Mary\u2019s English Medium School into a centre of learning rooted in values, discipline, and compassion. His leadership was marked by simplicity, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to nurturing young minds.<\/p><p>Though he is no longer with us, Dr. C. I. Oommen\u2019s ideals continue to guide the institution. The only English Medium School then available was 15kms away, highly expensive and overcrowded.<\/p><p>So, the founders of the school, DR.C.I.Oommen (Rtd.prof.Catholicate college Pathanamthitta), and Mrs.Susy Oommen decided to start an English Medium school after a long discussion with their colleagues and friends supported by the people of konni to fullfil the dream of a common man to provide a good and affordable English Medium School. Hence the first English Medium School in konni came in to existence in 1981 with 20
